3 Fish Studios and James Tucker with the Aesthetic Union will be there too with an interactive hand-printing station.

Ellen Little Artist Reception

Ellen Little is a San Francisco based artist working mostly in large format watercolors. Her art draws from nature to explore the impermanence and beauty of life, where birth, aging and death are intertwined and nothing remains constant.

Sea Turtle Show

We are excited to announce our first Sea Turtle Show benefiting the Sea Turtle Restoration Project!

On Saturday, May 18, the Low Tide Club will be filled with sea turtle inspired art and wares by local artists and craft makers.

Please come by between 4-6 p.m. for a presentation by Alex Hearn, Ph.D., Conservation Science Director for the Sea Turtle Restoration Project.

Alex Hearn PhotoDr. Alex Hearn is a marine biologist specializing in the study of the movements of migratory sharks, fishes and sea turtles with a strong focus on conservation. He joined the nonprofit Turtle Island Restoration Network as Director of Conservation Science program earlier this year.  (The Sea Turtle Restoration Project is a conservation initiative of Turtle Island.) Previously he worked at the University of California, Davis and with the Charles Darwin Foundation at the Galapagos Islands, as Coordinator of Fisheries Research from 2002-2008. His research has been featured in a number of documentaries, including the recent David Attenborough’s Galapagos in 3D, and the 10-part third season of Shark Men. A new documentary featuring his research on the migration of pregnant whale sharks, “Galapagos – Realm of the Giants” is due for release in 2013. Dr. Hearn is a graduate of the Oceanography Dept at Southampton University, UK. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at Heriot-Watt University, based in the Orkney Islands to the north of the Scottish mainland.
